EK2 System

and if I may offer a couple of suggestions, point the tees in your primary/secondary loop up. The oxides and crap from the old system will not make it back to the heat exchanger and boiler nearly as much if you do. Also, I would have suggested replacement of the oil line from the wall to the Tigerloop. I'm not being critical, only trying to help. Your work looks great.

  • This system was in Lloyd Neck , NY

Real beautiful peninsula connected to L.I. on the north coast . I heard the customer was burning almost 2500 gallons a season . Alot of room for improvement there .
  • EK2 with the aquabooster

The job was speced with 2 injection zones , 5 zones total . The post purge functionality of the boiler required a whole bunch more wiring and controls . But it all worked out in the end . Now I'm ready for my first beer :)
  • Thanks Ken

for the compliment and suggestions . I was wondering why all the diagrams showed the tees pointing up . Sediment shouldn't be a problem though . We added cleaner on the 1st day and on the 2nd day we drained it ( a few sweat leaks ), added more cleaner and purged the system with hot water . Normally we try to replace the oil line but we're going back in a few weeks to install a new tank .

There were 4 of us for the 1st day , and me and Paul went back to wrap it up . The wiring took up a good chunk of the 2nd day . And finding a suitable spot to run the fresh air vent out of a huge home and keep the length of pipe within specs was a chore , but Paul figured out a way .
