domestic hot water off steam boiler

We recently had our old steam boiler serviced and now the domestic hot water running from the boiler always starts too cold. I tried adjusting the hot/cold mix but not to satisfactory results. I suspect that the plumber turned down the temp of the boiler tank. It is now set at 160. Is it OK to turn it up? If so, how high can I go? Thanks!
