Squick and Smith G8

Should one use Squick or something similar in a new G8? OR is it better to just flush the water a few times? Does one need any sort of skimming loop on the G8?
I'm going to try to get the plumber to flush the system with the wet returns open to the sewer as I'm sure there is tons of crud in the system. Once that runs clear we'll close the system. Any tips on how to best do this without damaging the boilers? This is a single pipe system.
