Could one install a TT Prestige Solo in a 43\" crawl space?

Das ist tight..
The boiler is 36" high that does not leave very much room for the piping..

Why not be Proud and "European" about it and install it in the "Living areas"?? and pipe it down into the dungeon where the "munchkins" belong.

Shoe horning a Solo 60 into a 43\" crawl space

We really want to upgrade to a TT Prestige solo 60 for a radiant floor system. It would need to live in an insulated crawl space that is 43" from slab to floor joists. The intake and exhaust could sidewall exit via joist space so the the stainless adapters could project up into the joist space. This leaves 43" - 35 & 1/2 inches = 7 & 1/2 inches of space below the boiler to deal with piping.

The Prestige tech that I spoke with said that ~ 5" would be needed to allow for the condensate drain. I know that they suggest 24" of clearance above and below the unit for maintenece but the tech basically said if you can make it fit it will be OK. With appropriate unions one could pull the whole unit for maintenence.

Outside of its height the Solo is a great match for this appication.

Looking for anyone that has done a similar install.

    Thanks for all informed/informative replies!

    Heatmeister,

Not too proud to put it in the living space, but this unit will be going in a geodesic dome with sloped trianglular sidewalls that actually serve as roof at the height where the unit would need to be placed in the living area.Nothing comes easy with this job:(

  • Could you...

Hang it cleverly disguised in a cabinet amongst the others in the kitchen? ;)
