Taco SR501 fuse question

The fuses on a taco SR501 relay are in what line? the 24v transformer side?

What would cause a blown fuse on these units?

Its my assumption that if one of these fuses were to blow, it means that I had either too much voltave applied on the TT terminals for whatever reason.

Could anyone help me out with an understanding of what these fuses protect and possible causes of failure?

Thanks

The Taco SR501 has two fuses, a 1 amp, and a 5 amp fuse. The 1 amp is protecting the low voltage side, or the transformer, and the 5 amp protects the line voltage side specific to that zone. Simply said; if the load on that single zone exceeds the 5 amps the fuse will blow, as opposed to the board becoming the fuse. Taco recognizes the importance of having the fuse protection. Hopefully, this helps you.

I spoke with Joe from Taco on the phone this morning and he provided some very helpful and detailed answers to my questions.

    Thanks again Joe!

Are those fuses replaceable or are they hard-wired in?
