Maine code question

I recently heard that in Maine they don't want the automatic feeder installed above the LWCO. Their theory is, if a boiler leaks, that the feeder will satify the LWCO into believeing that there is no leak occuring.
Take into consideration that most LWCO's are located just above the boiler in the supply, while the feeder is usually located between the Xtank and air eliminator just above the LWCO.
Any thoughts?
thanks
