Is it possible to add a protective barrier to solar panels to protect the from vandals tossing rocks, etc. at them???

vandalism, or just looking for a precaution? Why would they chose a solar panel over a picture window?
Certainly a expanded metal screen could be installed, a bit of a performance hit perhaps. Stainless steel or plated screen.
