Ancient Plumbing

Again in the ancient city of Ephesus in modern Turkey. These pipes were for fresh water. Amazingly similar to modern clay piping used for waste. They carried drinking water as well as heated water for DHW and space heating throughout the public areas of the city as well as the homes of the elite. They were installed from the 3rd through 6th centuries a.d. and some sections can still be pressurized!
Outer diameter about 10"-12"; inner diameter about 4" - 5". Unsure how they conveyed waste water or where it went.
