to purge or not?

I recently installed a Viessmann Vitorond 33 with a TurboMaxx23. For controls I am using a Honeywell Aq2514 with outdoor reset with High limit controller only. I am concerned with post purge, and if my system is properly configured for efficiency. My friend has a superstor and swears I have made the wrong choice, or have the wrong aquastat. With energy prices as they are Id like to run the most efficient configuration possible.

What we are seeing, the boiler sits idle due outdoor reset until getting kicked on based on demand or until standby heat loss on water heater is below 120 degrees kicks it in. Is there a way to reduce boiler cycling in these warm months? Do I need pre purge? Is post purge a waste in this situation? Can I somehow put a delay or timer on the indirect?

Another question is the Turbomaxx aquastat appears to be serving the system as the low limit setpoint which fires the boiler when needed. Is there a reccomendation to optimize this? In other words would a pre purge help if the boiler water temp was higher due to a longer burn?

Please advise.
