I'm guilty, Dan

The first question I ask when someone comes in to do some steam work for us is if they have read any of Holohans stuff.
The good ones say yes!

    I didn't mean to

Plagiarize you, but this time of year when people ask lots of questions about heating systems, I am finding myself, in verbal and written conversations and online saying; "Ask me how I know!" I feel guilty about this and wish to repent! But at the same time, I am trying to be a shill for your books and website on a level that Ed McMahon would be proud of!

    Amazing thing

is the conversations I've had w/ a couple of Property Managers about their steam system problems. After going over what needs to be done, they've said (to paraphrase) "That's what I read in Dan Holohan's Book."

Next thing. Dan will be wanting a piece of the action.

The other side of that coin

A telling reaction I got from one contractor was "Oh, THAT guy!"

The contractor made all sorts of wild suggestions to "improve" my system - lots of them were in direct opposition to what I have learned here (and to the contractor's own copies of manufacturer's literature, as I pointed out to him).

This particular contractor (as I later discovered) was universally regarded as a crook and a hack....
