You need to do this to match up for efficiency and amount of refrigerant in new models.

indoor coil for heat pump
hello
someone wants to install a heatpump condensing unit. he has a straight 4 ton air conditioning unit. he wants to replace the ac condensing unit with a heatpump condensing unit but doesn't want to change the air handler. he doesn't care about auxilliary heat, but has an oil boiler connected to baseboard which he'll use on cold nights. can he keep his current air handler or does he absolutly have to change it to a heatpump air handler? perhaps he can modify the airhanler by adding a check valve to get around the metering device and add a tx valve for the heating mode. is this do-able?0 -
No!........squared!
I know money is tight, but the fix will be even more expensive....matched system all the way!0
