Nothing like spending the day with Dad. So few understand that nowadays.

Good for you Dad.

    So did Papa....

I woke him at 0600 hours (6 am) and we headed to a Beautiful 1909 Historic home in Brooklyn where He wrote down the radiator measurements and comments I made during our Steam Heat Consultation. As I wrote up my report Matt played with the Client's children. From there we drove to Flushing where we caught the second half of The Battle of Francis Lewis Blvd, the perennial gridiron battle between Saint Francis Prep and Holy Cross Highschool. My Nephew, Bartholomew Sweeney the 5th, followed in his father's footsteps at The Prep and is now Co-Captain of his JV squad. The Prep won with Matt and I cheering them on. After the game, Matt The Professor - as I call him -wanted to collect some "specimens." We walked some wooded trails, caught two decay snakes and took them with us. From There we grabbed lunch on the fly and headed to East Norwich to do a Service on a GB we installed last year. After that we traveled to an old estate on Long Island's Gold Coast for another consulation on an ancient Steam system. We got home at 5pm to a Traditional German Diner of Roast Pork, kraut, potato pancakes, and spaetzle. He told me this was one of the best days of his life - me too. I am blessed. Mad Dog

    Handsome young man

and no surprise, I can see both you and T.L. Barbara in his face.

Matt Jr. makes a fine presentation in that uniform too. Another generation to take up the torch, both literally and figuratively.

Today, this day, you created memories to last all of your lifetimes.

You and Barbara are both blessed, MadDog. Thanks for sharing.

    A Great Day!

It is great to be able to mix up a day like that. I love the US Flag on Matt Jr shirt! I can remember many such days with myself and Anthony going on jobs together. It sure helps build some strong bonds with father and son. It looks like we have another good Sweeney man on the way. By the way, it is getting time for Venison Sauerbraten! Yum!

  • He's getting big!

Good for the both of you Matt!

My son and I spent Saturday chasing birds around the woods.

Doesn't get any better than that.

  • Cool kid...

I'll bet he's just like all these hi-tech kids, computers & other hi-tech hold no mystery to them. He probably can program a Logomatic faster than you. Great to see a Dad so involved with his kids, that's really rare these days.
  • Matt, it will always be

the best times when they are spent with Dad. My son started working with me at 9 years old and he could not wait to get in that truck no matter what the time of day. I started him out at 25 cents an hour and as time went on he said one day "I do not think I am getting paid enough for all I do" that was the beginning of his unbeleivable negotiating and business skills. By the way I gave him a 25 cents more an hour raise.

You will look back some day and long for those times.

    So Good To Hear

With all that is going on....this was a refreshing post. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting your son but he sounds like a great young man. Dan is right....hug your kids and cherish the time you have with them. Time is the one thing we will never be able to control and it really does go by too fast.

Matt: Give me a call when you can. I want to pick your brain on a few items. (516) 484-2610 ext. 364

    Thanks,

    we call him The Professor.................................

He's gonna be an Archeaologist or Phd Historian at this point, but Plumbin' and heatin' could always pay the bills. He is MUCH more mechanical than I was at his age. Thanks Guys I wanted to share that with you'll....Mad Dog
