The top plate of my boiler uses the white cloth like material as a means to seal the top plate for cleaning. It is definitely reaching its life and I wanted to replace it. Is there a newer material that is rubberized that is used more often or do you just use more of the same stuff. It doesn't seem very good that basically to make a 10" square seal you just piece together strips that are not even adhering to either surface. Any help would be appreciated in locating the best sealing material. Thank you0 -
PIX,?
Can you post some pix?
I do not know what you are up agains but we use RTV red for SOME of our boiler reseals.
As you maybe figured out this seal is very important!
Again some pix will help !0 -
Let me see if I can get a pic. when you remove the top courtesy cover, this is the 10" by 10" plate with 4 bolts that allows you access to the top of the chamber for cleaning. The edges of it are the porion that seals. This is a WBV Peerless Boiler about 7 years old.0 -
