Heatmaker Replacement Boiler

I am looking to replace my 18 year old heatmaker (heating coil ruptured) boiler. The exact replacement would be a LAARRS endurance boiler but have not heard pleasant things.

I started some research and came accross the Baxi Luna comfort 3 with the Modullio tank. Is this a good reliable boiler? I don't know that I would benefit from the condensing boilers which typically runs 700 to 800 more.

I have two more heatmakers in the tenants apartments that run fine but will probably look to replace those too very soon. Any suggestions?

    Baxi

I install a Baxi's as a good replacement to the heatmakers. The only thing to watch for is the 3/4 inch gas line (lp) that is needed for the Baxi. Most of the heatmakers around here were either 1/2od or 5/8od. If I were you I would consider investing in the HT380 over the Luna 3. I installed one last week and was able to operate 4 showers continuously on the HT380.It was when I turned on a lav faucet that the pressure and temperature started to drop out. I was quite impressed with that. It would probably cost you less than the Luna and Modulo.

    Reliable

It's all in the installation. If you follow the installation and set up instructions, they are very reliable. I have been involved with Baxi for about 5 years now and have found them to be very reliable. I really like the HT380 boiler now that I have seen the DHW output.
