What boiler brands do you recommend? And which you don't?

Hi,
I'm planning on replacing my old boiler and I wanted to know which brands would you recommend (ie more reliable)?and which ones you wouldn't (ie are a piece of junk)? Also initially, I was thinking of getting one of the regulars ones (ie 80+ efficiency) but after reading some articles I'm having doubts. Are the high efficiency ones worth buying? Being that this is for my tenant apartment I might just go for a 80+ one and leave the high effient one for us next year. ;-P
Thanks

you know...
...it's not about the machine...it's about " The Man ". The components from one brand to the next are the same , the same standards have to be met by all. At the end of the day , the only difference is ..." The Man ".
Did " The Man " care ? Did he try to do a nice job ? Did you push him to a point that he could only afford to do a " marginal" job ?
Use the " find a contractor " search on this site and I'll bet you will get the results you are looking for. There is no harm in saying " I don't wan't to pay alot for this muffler ". But remember , to attain the ratings on ANY efficency rating , proper installation is a MUST.
And so it's back to " The Man ". Pay a good man to install an 80 percenter...you get 80 percent efficiency . Pay a hack to install a 90 percenter you get 0 percent ( cause the damn thing wont work ). Don't try to find a good boiler , find a good installer. - M0 -

Not all are created the same. An answer to your ??
I agree that you must find a qualified installer but not all boilers are equal. Here's my take and experience w/ types. I would first prefer stainless condensing over non condensing or aluminum condensing. (my preference) 2nd the boilers I like based on quality, reliability and price point added up. 1 Triangle tube prestige, 2 Viessmann vitodens 200, 3 Lochinvar knight. I have not installed all these but I have installed a bunch of the TT prestige boilers and I am IMPRESSED, $ for $ the most reliable simple condensing boiler I have seen. I am rating these by what opinions I have seen here, my experience with them, the quality of the unit as I see them for design & functionality, the reliability reports I hear, the base cost of boiler and what controls the boiler comes with. Only one opinion here but I think several people here on the wall would go along with this. Tim0
