Matt Jr. took a ride with Papa this saturday

We awoke at 6 am and headed to a Steam Heat Consultation in a gorgeous 1909 Dutch Colonial in Brooklyn. Matt Jr wrote down the radiator measurements I threw at him and also played with the clients two young sons. From There we drove to Flushing to catch the second half of my Nephew Bartholomew Sweeney The Fifth's Football Game. It was the perennial "Battle of Francis Lewis Blvd" between Saint Francis Prep (150 years and going strong, alma mater of Vince Lombardi and Joe Torre)and Holy Cross. The Prep won! After this, Matt Jr. who is a biology NUT wanted to hunt for critters in the woods. The first log we turned over produced a tiny baby Decay snake. We then caught another one and took them with us for specimens. We then grabbed lunch on the run and ran out to East Norwich Long Island to do an annual service on a GB we installed last year. After that, we drove a few miles to Old Brookville to an old Gold Coast Mansion to look over an ancient steam system. We got home by 5pm (thats along day for an 8 1/2 year old)to a German Loin of Pork dinner with kraut, potato pancakes, spatzale, and gravy. After the long day and that meal...bedtime was a welcome sight. Matt did'nt want to take a dime, but I forced a ten spot on him. It was a great day for me too. I am so blessed! Mad Dog
