NEW T87 HONEYWELL T STAT? PROBLEM WITH SHORT CYCLING GAS STEAM

Isn't it adjustable? If it was a regular merc one I'd be looking at the anticipator setting.

    dip switches

The dip switches on the back should be set to your type of heating equipment. Steam should be 1 cph, It's listed right on the back of the thermostat. I believe that they both should be set to "On" or both up, if I remember right.
    Good Luck!

Ok, Thanks for checking, EG. Maybe the control on your boiler can't handle a power robbing thermostat, so either a isolation relay needs to be installed or trya battery powered thermostat, with a dry set of contacts.

    Power robbing stat

can be a problem. I read that somewhere else this week. It can drive you crazy. Just get a Focus Pro TH5110. The cost is almost identical and the cycle rate is adjustable. I think you want maybe 2 cycles per hour.
