I realize that it is substantially reduced because of sunlight, but I would like to know how performance is when it's sub-zero & sunny out. If's it cloudy the boiler will take over. Thanks for the tip, HR.

Coldest climate install for solar DHW
What is the coldest design temp that anyone on the wall has installed solar DHW set-up. Our design temp for winter is -8F, here in Marquette, MI. I would like to hear from everone, especially from the Canadians, ( or is it Canadiens?). Thanks is advance for any info!

It's more about the amount of sun
you recieve. Log on to the nora website to download solar available tables for your area.

doesn't Green Bay, WI have
one of the largest thermal arrays in the US? Solar energy is available anywhere the sun shines. How much, and what it would cost to harness enough for your task becomes the determining factor.
Try the various solar design software programs to determine "solar fraction" Then see how it pencils out with the economic module of the program.
