I have been hanging around here for some years, now, soaking up all I can about the care & feeding of one-pipe steam.
I wrote out a brief Spec for our boiler changeover to gas and then found a pro who was willing to listen and do it how I decided it should be done:
Drop header, no copper on the steam side, two supply pipes, when one was good enough, and right sizing the Burnham Independence (thanks NG, I hope).
The install is 90% finished but not operated, and of course, it's not heating season, yet. I hope I'll be as satified, come next March.
I have enclosed a photo that will be more informative before I insulate all the steam phase piping. (What do you use to insulate over the fittings?)
