The aluminum wire is softer than the steel wire and we feel it is a better choice. The price difference is minimal. -DF

Dan,
YOu said you have the max tie tool. What wire do you use? Coated or just steel? Looking into one now cause my back is getting sore.

We use the coated aluminum wire. We have three Max tools and they are a huge labor saver (not to mention the wear and tear on your back!). We got ours through Todd at Mid-Atlantic Fasteners (703-898-4117). -DF

Why spend the extra cash on the coated wire? The pex is attached to the rebar which is bare steel?
