snow melt timer
I would like to install a timer on a snow melt system that is set up to be fully automatic. Preferably something like a twist timer for a room light. It would be wired to control the whole system and avoid having the system idle for long periods. The timer has to be extremely easy to use and I am thinking 24 hrs would be a good amount of time. I only see twist timers that have much shorter run times and the digital timers are to difficult for the users. thanks for any help.0 -
I see the
twist timers in the catalog but they are only good for 12 hrs. Am I missing it? 24 hrs is what I'am looking for. Thanks.0 -
Intermatic Timer
HD and Lowes carry an industrial Intermatic model available with a mechanial motor timer or electronic timer. You must buy additionll tabs (on/off) for the mechanical model and have some skill in wiring as these timers must be hard wired and are designed for high current/motor loads. If you are planning to control multiple heating wires, you need to look at the total current load to be serviced off a single 15 or 20 amp circuit. Another solution for multiple heating wire outlets is 12 or 24v relays but that requires electrical skills. Easiest and cheapest is to get heavy duty timers for each servicng outlet- most all are 24hr. with each individually timed.0
