How do i figure out how many btu.s i need to heat my house?

Click on "Resources" then on "Heat Loss Calcs" and follow the instructions.
Essentially you will be measuring areas of exterior walls, glass, doors and roof, all surfaces which define and contain heated space. This will determine transmission or conductance through surfaces.
Then you will calculate volume to determine infiltration or heat lost from air exchange with the outdoors. Pretty much.0
