G-8 - How low can we go?

if it's properly set up, using a digital combustion analyzer that checks for CO and many other things.

Just a matter of doing it right.

Steamhead or anyone else familiar with the G8,

I have updated the thread "total square feet of radiation" and put in my final calcs for the house heat loss with all improvements.

What we are unsure of at this point is how low we can downfire the G8 and still make steam. I know I am supposed to match the radiation but I would like to change the radiation to more closely match the loss.

Have you ever installed one and down fired as far as I am projecting. Do you know the lower limit? I would love to use the G8 and if it will work that is what I will buy. I am prety much at the decision making time and it is not getting warmer outside. I already heaved my old POS (Piece of @#@#) to the curb. My wife won't be too happy if we get a cold blast anytime soon.

    Didn't see the other thread.........BUT

You'd better watch your combustion analyser, Carbon Monoxide numbers, and flue temps. Mad Dog

    holy crap

Are you saying I am going to be in a situation where I could create excess Carbon Monoxide. Carbon monoxide scares the crap out of me and would rather stay on oil if only it wasn't cost prohibitve. One reason I want the G8 is to have the option to switch back if I choose. Please tell me it won't be an issue.
