The Beautiful United States of America

We spent a couple days on Monhegan in August. Whoops, forgot my hiking shoes, just sneakers. Next time, Hiking shoes. Don't have any pics (she took over 400, but on a different system). In a word or two; blown away! with the magnificence. I'm 61, and lived in Maine for 51. SHAME on me for not taking in these sights much earlier. Maybe I can get a transference of some pics to post. Monhegan Light has one of the MOST detailed museum's of daily life we have seen since we started visiting all the Maine lighthouses, so far. But, we do have a way to go to see them all.

    Portland Head Light House

In town for a series of Counter Days. Had lunch on the water and took this picture. I also highly recommend the local brew Shipyard Pumpkin Head Ale! What a beautiful state, what a beautiful country...

    Thanks! Just a lucky shot

I shot these with Canon PowerShot A560. It's perfect weather and perfect scenery. Just got lucky...

    our state

There is another lighthouse (the nubble lighthouse) in York. http://lighthouse.cc/capeneddick/ Its the most photographed lighthouse in the country. We took our mini staycations right here at home in Maine. Monhegan Island and Long pond which is west of the Moosehead area. Both good times and we'll do it next summer also.
