Steam Gas Boiler- Gun or atmospheric?

how much radiation you have. Don't go by the size of the present boiler. It is probably oversized.
In general, a boiler with a power gas burner ("gun") will have a better thermal efficiency than an atmospheric one. Go for the gun.
An indirect heater is more expensive to buy and install, but uses much less fuel. I'd go that way.

Steam Gas boiler-Install a gun or atmospheric
I have an eight family frame house in bklyn, exposed on three sides. Currently I have a HB Smith 543K BTU boiler probably 30 years old. I am think about changing it,
What's better an atmosperic boiler or "gun" boiler?
Should I reduce the size, if so by how much?
Install a coil or don't and use HW heater?
What brand is recommended, perless,burham,etc?
Thanks!0
