gauge
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE TO GET A 3 OR 5 PSI GAUGE? I CAN'T FIND ONE THAT CAN BE USED WITH STEAM.
THE ONE THAT CAME WITH MY NEW BOILER IS A 30PSI. I DON'T THINK IT WILL READ .5 TO 2 PSI ACCURATELY. THE USUAL RULE OF THUMB IS DOUBLE WHAT YOU WANT TO READ WHICH WOULD MAKE THIS GAUGE GOOD FOR THE 15PSI RANGE.

Gauges
The grainger book has a few of the gauges your looking for as do most piping supply houses. Don't forget the pigtail. Grainger can be found on line at grainger.com0 -
The 30 PSI gauge
is just a code requirement, being twice the maximum boiler pressure rating. (Nothing in the code says that it has to be useful!)
I go to McMaster-Carr among other sources. Seek "Low Pressure Gauges". I get the ones that read 0-32 ounces for vapor systems but there are other scales too. Keep looking.0 -
some localities will require a #30 , some of the inspectors are real hard and don't know about steam i have actually had to install 2 gauges on an install just to satisfy the inspector --they want to a gauge double the boilers' rated pressure ----even though its useless to have the 30#
grainger and mcmaster will have what you need -get a brass pigtail too0 -
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP, I FOUND AND ORDERED A 3PSI GAUGE.
IT WILL BE INSTALLED ON A PIGTAILED MANIFOLD ALONG WITH THE VAPORSTAT AND THE 30PSI GAUGE. (MIGHT EVEN PUT A 1/4" BALL VALVE BETWEEN IT TO ISOLATE/PROTECT WHEN I DON'T NEED IT)
