    Fenwal Controls and Raypak

    Good Morning Guys!!!

I have a customer (a prep high school), that has several small Raypak boilers with Fenwal ignition controls. The last contractor that they worked with was replacing up to 5 of the Fenwal controls per year. They have asked me to search for an alternative to the Fenwal. None of the Honeywell replacement modules spell out replacement of andy Fenwal controls. I know that a lot of you guys would consider "trying" an alternative even if it didn't spell out as a replacement......and I'm wondering if any of you have "tried" something as a replacement to the Fenwal......and what your experience has shown you. The Fenwal website shows this control as being obsolete,w ith NO replacement, and Raypak basically just has a ton of the old ones left to get rid of. The boilers are still in decent shape (would love to sell em new ones...but ...well....you know) Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance.

    Don

    HSI or SPARK ?

Try Honeywell universal modules, 2wks ago I replaced a HSI module that was only less than 2yr old (residential) boiler was short cycling all summer cause of a bad DHW zone pump I think the module got tired and wore out.
