Safety glasses

I got solder and flux in my eye. Had to go the the eye doctor where they scraped it out with a needle. Not a pleasant experience. That experience helps me remember to wear my safety glasses.

    Safety glasses

Just a reminder to all that safety glasses are made for looks. Recently I was installing a boiler, cutting the old piping away and It happened. The pipe slipped and went through my eye. You can only imagine how that can change your life, Probably going to have to get out of the business. WEAR GLASSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope everything works out for you.

We supply all our techs with safety glasses, but, like leading a horse to water, we can't make them wear them. We try.

Listen to Frank people, safety glasses all the time. Like I tell my guys, there's no good excuse you can give me for not wearing them.

I hope your recovery goes well

This happened to me with purple pvc primer. Working alone putting some 4 inch pvc together, on a ladder, at roughly eye level. Just put a little too much pressure on the applicator behind the pipe while moving it around to the front. Flicked that stuff into my face, hit my regular glasses, but a drop went into my eye. Hurt like hell. I tried to rinse, but it didn't do much. Drove myself to the emergency room without my right eye in service. Scared the hell out of me.

Long story short, took about a month to fully recover my sight in that eye. I went out and bought a gross of safety goggles.

    Good luck in your recovery.

    Re Saftey glasses

Will be praying for your recovery. Thank you for taking the time to post. The directive to wear glasses came around. The distric manager came in told me as supervisor I needed to set the example. Next night I got hit in the face with a fireball. Lost half my hair and burnt my face, melted the new glasses. Fortunately I had them on I still have my sight. Will be praying that you have a full recovery, regain your sight and are able to return to work.

Really sorry to hear of your injury. I hope you can take advantage of any resources available to you in the way of workers comp or other insurance.
