Noisy Boiler- GlowCore

This is a combination boiler/air handler with a very distinct blower noise (some might say annoying). It is nearly impossible to attenuate this particular sound and replacement would be the solution. It will probably amaze many that this unit still works, but it is not unheard of.

NTI now makes a similar unit called Matrix. Have your neighbor look into this option as the Glowcore does not have a reputation for long life and parts appear to be all but impossible to acquire at this point in time.

Noisy GlowCore Boiler

I have been trying to find anyone responsible for the production or maintenance of GlowCore Boilers. All to no avail thus far. My neighbor has a couple of GlowCore UFO 80D1412 boilers exhausting into our shared courtyard that make a very loud whistling noise. He has done all he can to try to reduce the noise- goosenecks, insulation etc, short of replacing the units. Is there anyone out there with a familiarity with these particular boilers that might have any recommendations as to how he might reduce the amount of noise generated through their exhaust pipes?

if the noise

is a real problem, offer to help him haul the d**n things out. Not really very heavy and it would be the best fix you can offer.
