old house new h/w boiler

Thank you for the response Tim. If you don't mind and if I may ask one more, does this mean that I will remain with 2 supply lines w. circ pumps, 2 return lines, and 2 by passes? Is this correct? No other pump will be needed and the near boiler plumbing will be changed to the appropriate size per the book? Also is p/s mean bypass? Thanks.

    old house newer h/w boiler

Recently bought a old victorian home circa 1898, in 2000 the previous owner installed a Burnham boiler. He must of wanted to save money because he elected to go back to gravity feed and return. I am a newbee at this and wondered if I set a B&G series 100 at the return to feed two zones around the home that feed old cast iron radiators on the first and second floor. The boiler as it is now has two ports to feed and two pipes for the return. Seems to me and after reading the book on Hydronics by Dan H. it looks like the circ pump goes on the feed side of the boiler. The other method discussed is the closed loop with the primary and secondary pump and the 12" distance for the T's. Would both these use the series 100 or would I need a different pump for the secondary such as B&G's little red booster pump? Sorry if this is not clear but if feed back comes in I can give more detail.

A taco 007 or Grundfos 15-42 would more than do it. If 2 zones will be made, you need to protect against cold returns with p/s or a bypass.

Just a guy running some pipes.
