It's "ROFLMFAO"

Do I need to tell you what that second "F" stands for?

(Winking smiley face goes here)

    LOL

(Feel free to delete this thread but it does have a lot to do with how business owners and their employees communicate.)

The acronym that brought down the world of face-to-face communications, LOL, must go! I am proposing a national "LOL Execution" day. No one combination of wretched letters has had more to do with the loss of personal contact than LOL. Anybody with me?

    No, I haven't been drinking -- yet.

I don't really care. It's like "OMG". I've had enough of that one, especially since it's spoken more than it's typed.

Having a slow day today John?
  • ROFLMAF...?

Can't be any worst than this...?

    (Couldn't resist, sorry John)

Actually, I spend a lot (LOT) of time with my 12 year old daughter trying to defeat her internet chat habits from penetrating face to face conversations..., but on the net, or text message, it is the new slang..sorry, better get used to it, because it is not going away, and there I do not mnd it.

    In My Day

In my day the terms, burn out, space shot, bum trip, drop out, tune out, lid, far out, wow man. Although these and many more were done in person rather than by any form electronically they still drove the people who were the age we are now at that time nuts.

Everybody has slang of one sort or another. I was just about to get married to the gal who is now my wife...and working at a supply house. She happened to come in one day and stood there watching me work and talk with the customers. Of course the talk was filled with 'male' 'female' and 'nipples' and 'cocks' and all of the terms that we all live by and think nothing of. When we got in the car she was mad! I had no clue but eventually she railed on me for being 'so nasty' in front of her! Then she wondered why we used the male and female terms...the best I could come up with at the time was that we wouldn't ever get confused or forget! True Story.

And then there was explaining the saw dust and wood chips in my underwear when I was doing RI work.
