    I had a good run

of years with Plumbing & Mechanical, PMEngineer, and Supply House Times magazines, but now that it's done, I thought I would scan and upload the columns (well, nearly all the columns) that I wrote for those good people, starting in 1990.

You'll find them as year-by-year PDF documents in this new section of the site, under the Resources tab. Enjoy the memories, and (hopefully) the education.

And there's a new banner available on that new page for any smart manufacturer that recognizes its value. First come, first served. Thanks.

Great stuff, Dan! A trip down memory lane. I remember reading some of these as a novice. Thanks for posting these on your site. -DF

  • Not just figured it out

What Bob did, that is, but use the 'cure' when dealing with Cheatum's relatives. Works every time!

I think we need to have a Big Ugly, get them drunk, and pick their brains.

This probably comes under the heading of creative revenge. There are books on the subject. One I remember was a young starlit moved to Hollywood and ended up being seduced by a high powered producer. She moved in with him, but as time went by he decided that he was done with her. Her told her that he was going away for 2 weeks, and when he got back she should be gone.

After he left he regretted his decision, wondering what the house would look like when he returned. However, when he got back she was gone and the house was immaculate! He did notice that the phone was off the hook. When he picked it up, he heard the time service (where you can call to get the current time) .... in Japan.

Must have been a nice bill.
