Finding the Right Contractor

had for the last several years. A rebirth, an opportunity, a renaissance if you will in our industry. Progressive contractors who were saavy enough to see this coming 5 years ago and further back have prepared themselves for this time through many seminars, books, articles, experimentation and downright stubborness to try to change the mindset of the 20th century-way-of heating that has ruled our industry for so long. Not too many years ago, A Buderus Wall Hung, a Megsteam or Rinnai Tankless was a TOUGH sell and few and far between. The fuel crisis of the last couple of years has changed that. The phones ring off the hook everyday with queries about these systems and many are folks we told back then and now they are ready to act. You just haven't had the right company in there yet. We are nearby if you need us. Just go to the Find a Professional site here and put in your zipcode. Mad Dog

I'm a homeowner and I have a question for all you pros out there...We're all trying to squeeze everything we can out of heating systems these days, and I'm trying to find out if an outdoor reset or any other type of control would save me any money this heating season...BUT...how do I find a contractor that is up to date with these kinds of controls? I know lots of you guys (and gals) have been at it a long time and really know your stuff, but times are changing. The oil company rep just shrugs and says it won't do me any good, but then he's the guy selling the oil so I'm sure he's not going to cut his own throat! I'm looking for comments, suggestions, heck, even emails on the subject! For you local Long Island guys I'm not far from Dan, I'm in Massapequa and I'd love to hear from the pros.

Boiler Add-Ons
Hi Bob,
I'm not a heating tech but a person also looking to save some dough on heating. There are a few options out there for sophisticated controls to improve the operation of your heating system.
In order for the pros to serve you better, give some more info on what your present system consists of. Also, post some pictures if you can. There may be things going on in your boiler that no amount of controls can address. Post more information first.0
