a maxitrol sr500-1 two stage regulator to allow low fire once the pressure builds up..its a shame the factory doesn't offer this on the residential line.

    oversized steam boiler

    I looked at a steam boiler today that was having problems with short cycling. The boiler is a Burnham IN7. I measured all of the radiators and the size should be a Burnham IN5. The boiler is brand new and the company that installed it is not responding to phone calls from the customer. Is there anything that can be done to fix this without replacing the boiler? I told them to remove the insulation from the mains to heat the basement and it will also hel[p the oversizing, but i don't think that alone is enough. thanks
