I'm looking for a way to run my two 3/4" copper pipes through the roof without having rain water leak into my garage

    solar collectors

I'm going to be installing a couple of solar colectors on my garage roof and I'm wondering if there is anything on the market which will allow me to run two 3/4" copper pipes for the supply and return lines and also one 1/2" pipe which would allow me to run a sensor cable through the roof. I'm really cocerned about rain water leakage. Thanks.

    flow rate

Check the flow rate, size the copper line to that and there ya go. I expect w/only 2 collectors you could get away with 3/4" or 1/2" pipe.

Sensor wire through plastic UV electrical conduit to outside box or just silicone around wire through roof.

    Good luck

    seal

Either seal w/silicone or install a pipe jack. Done both and both work.

    pipe roof

Use a roof vent cut in higher than panel so pipes can loop into bottom of vent. Remove section of screen so pipes can go though.

    roof vent?

    I wouldn't do that....

Keep the plumbing short on the outside. Feed in bottom return at top. Flow is better and you can drain if you need to.

Use the right tool (pipe jack) for the job

    My favorite method

is to run the pipe with insulation, up through a PVC or ABS sleeve. This allows it to be sealed to the roof properly. And the tubing can be easily removed. it provides a nice clean, UV protected look.

The pre insulated tube, like SolarFlex will fit in 3 or 4" sleeves. I use a Fernco cap, drilled with a hole saw as the final seal where the tube comes out of the sleeve.

A 90 ell on the sleeve neatens things up , also.

In this case I had the roofer install the roof jack to match the one piece roof.
