Thanks. You answered my questions. Never used them. I have always used a coupling or a union.

Strange pipe nipple
Looking through some old stock, I found several pipe nipples with both left and right-handed threads on the same nipple. They are 3/4 x 3" and 1/2 x 2 1/2". It appears that they could have been used between two fittings to draw them together. Any ideas where they might have been used?0 -

are very common in my area as many CI rads-on-feet are LH tapped.
I keep quite a few in stock.

L&R nipples for use with L&R cpgls for gas line repair work, You would have to use them instead of unions. Have used quite a few in N.Y0 -
