    My other passion

    A couple of years ago I discovered photography and have been elevated to the status of "serious amateur". You get this title by spending a disproportional amount of money on equipment for your level of talent. I achieved a milestone yesterday when a local television station posted some of my photos of a wildfire on their website. I live on the opposite side of this hill but it was still pretty dramatic. Some of my photos had my name listed twice, had to be some kind of mistake. Here is the link to the slideshow:

    The coolest thing about this is with my new found fame and $1.99 I'll be able to get my coffee at Starbucks in the morning.

    P.S. There were no injuries or loss of structures in this fire, turned out to be a pretty good day on Green Mountain.

    Awesome....

    It is funny how many people are affected by these things. In speaking with big Bill Garnet this morning, he told me his house was within 2 blocks of the big burn.

    I was on my way over to Pete Coors house for a "no cold air" call when I saw the flames.

    Friday morning, on our way to the other house on the western slope, the wife made the comment that Green Mountain looked perfect for a fire.

    Cool pictures, especially the ones of the fire vornadoes. Those things make an eeery noise eh... Sounds kinda like the air being torn up immediately after a 747 heavy has landed.

    Keep working on your other passion, and the next time you see my wife, ask her what her other passion is. You have something in common.
