Prestige High Efficiency Gas Boiler Service

I'm thinking about converting to gas from oil. I have a small space and it was recommended that I use the Prestige boiler. I'm concerned about service after I've done the conversion. Are there service people available on Long Island who I can count on in the future?

    Sure,

We service and install in Suffolk and I'm sure there are a few in Nassau as well.

    Oil to gas

    Hi Linda,
My wife and I converted from oil to gas last October through the Keyspan(now National Grid) progam. We only had two models of Burnham boilers to chose from, but, that was no issue as we went with the unit we could afford. Anyway, with a job such as this, it's the installer ,installer, installer that is of supreme importance! The person we chose through Keyspan (after interviewing many) cut corners on the job, cashed our check, and refused to come back and fix the problems he created.

First things first. Educate yourself. Ask lots of questions (this is probably the best place for that). Interview lots of potential installers. Ask what they are going to install and why. If any of 'em treat you like a five year old, toss 'em out and find someone else. These days heating contractors may charge a fee for an evaluation.

There are heating contractors who frequent this site who have impeccable credentials. Be prepared, they also charge accordingly. If I had it to do all over again, I would have gone to the top of the page and used the "Find a Professional" feature under Resources. Nothing beats peace of mind. Good Luck!

    Keep parts in stock

    Linda

Prestige is a great boiler - I think it's the best quality/value condensing boiler on the market. We keep the parts kit is stock -(an attache case with gas valve, sensors, fan motor, circuit board, transformer, etc).

I can also provide you names of a couple of contractors who own the service kits so they could service your boiler, should become necessary even on a Sunday afternoon.

    Re: parts for Prestige,

I started putting in Prestige a little over 3 yrs ago, bought a part kit when I installed 1st one, now appx 20+ later, still have not used a part. NOTE: did have one malfunctioning fan on start up early on out of the box but that's it. :) Tim
