    Or Pittsburgh?? My brother....

...needs a new hvac system. His house is a combination of OLD log style construction and newer framing. The old log portion (two story) will remain, but he's going to eventually tear off the newer part (single story - goofy setup) and build a new two story addition.

His heating system is currently a heat pump with hot water coil backup, fed from a Weil 80% boiler. The duct system is attrocious, and is not reusable imo. Utility bills are through the roof. It's a classic case of "rip out and start over."

I'm thinking a Unico system with hot water coil to handle the existing second floor, a TT Prestige boiler to take care of the heating, and also the future addition (which will incorporate radiant heat), along with domestic HW. The exising first floor has electric baseboard that can serve until the addition is built.

I simply do not have time to work with him on this, especially since he's 3+ hours from me. Anyone interested in taking a peek at this???

    Bump!

Please don't get me wrong - the ideas suggested above are just that - ideas. Anyone reasonably close that would want to take a look?

My bro' is willing to spend the money it takes to do it right.

    Thanks, Jay!

I just got off the phone with Doug. Sounds like he's exactly what we're looking for.
