Agent Orange and Health Checks

there is some more evidence published that Agent Orange is linked to agressive prostate cancers in vets exposed to the 50 some million pounds used in nam. If you handled it, got rained on by it or otherwise came into contact with it get frequent checks for cancer.

I have lost some friends to a variety of cancers and liver failures who had high exposures to Agent Orange. Because the cancer is agressive, early detection can make a big difference on outcome.

    Thanks for posting that

I must say that after my tour in Iraq, the VA has been very proactive in calling me about any possible health issues and following up on concerns noted on our post-deployment health survey. I must say that from my own personal experience the VA response to my needs has been great!

    Back pay

I just lost my step dad at the age of 62 from cancer last month. As a disabled vet, the VA raised his disability from 30% to 60%, and awarded back payments for the difference from 1967 to 2007. They would have given him 100% ,only if he stopped working. He never stopped, kept working until the day before he went to the hospital.

My father, also a disabled Vietnam vet ('68) and retired Army, also had his disability recently increased, and received the the difference. He was a helicopter mechanic, but was in contact with aircraft that sprayed the agent.

My heartfelt thanks to all Veterans, but especially to my grandfather(WWII), dad, and step dad.
