these are hydro level pump control probes..one opens a circuit when the water reaches its top probe, the other closes a circuit when the water reaches its top probe..the arrangement can be about anything desired..we have it set where the top most probe opens the circuit..this is the operating limit..next down is the top probe of the other unit, it closes when water reaches it..its the trigger for the low fire gas valve..next down is the lower probe of the latter mentioned unit..its the ''release'' probe to disengage low fire and reactivate high fire..next down is the lower probe of the former mentioned unit..its the release probe for that unit so that when the limit probe had activated, this probe releases that activation bringing the boiler back on..so as the boiler pressure starts to rise, it pushes water out of the reservior, up past the lower probe, up past the second probe, when the pressure reaches the third highest probe, it energizes the low fire valve, if pressure were to drop, when the water reaches the second probe it disengages the low fire valve, restores high fire, if the pressure didn't drop when low fire was engaged, but continued to climb anyhow, it would hit the fourth probe which shuts off the boiler, the water then falls until it clears the first probe, which restores the boiler to operation...very accurate..you space your tees basesd upon 1.75'' per ounce of desired pressure..
