Draft

Draft is both temperature and pressure. Draft in the summer will be lower than in the winter but it still has to be there. Gas and Oil fired water heaters have to run all summer even in 120 degree temperatures. As long as your flue gases are hotter than outside(I hope they are)and you have positive pressure in the mechanical room, draft should be present. What at what draft will the appliance vent? That is up to the appliance and for us to verify.

To answer questions about my other post, I need to get an answer to this one. Can you do an accurate draft in the summer time? I would think that a temperature differential would be necessary. Cold day different than a hot day in doing draft readings?

why you use a draft regulator!Except if the I&O manual says differently.Attached is Field Controls RC instructions

But can you/should you set a draft, with a draft regulator in summer? Will it not be right for winter?

That is exactly the purpose of a draft regulator. It allows you to set it under one set of conditions and then it automatically adjusts for the rest. If it is set up right, it will stay set right.
