The Return Of Schlitz

I remember growing up in Northern Minnesota and coping with the stress of high School, we had our own version of running for the border. We crossed the bridge to Wisconson where the legal drinking age was about 9 years old. The Schlitz was kind of spendy when we were teenagers and had to settle on the really cheap beers like Steinhouse, Buckhorn, White Lable, Red White and Blue or Blatz. I consider it a form of boot camp. If my Mom only knew!

it was pretty bad years ago ?? Have they changed the recipe ??

My father used to claim they should include a bottle of asprin with every six pack. He claimed it gave him a headache..

    PBR me ASAP

I'm with you Chet, I'm a PBR man myself. Especially ice cold long neck bottles on the deck. Good stuff!

PBR has made a real comeback

I tried some in college. I was wondering how they carbonated paint remover.

Fast forward 20 plus years and it's back and tastes good again. Local taverns are serving it, mostly in cans but a few have it on tap.

Yuengling is making it's way South.

Reminds me of an old Canadian-based joke...

Why don't American women like to drink beer at the beach?

They hate getting sand in their Schlitz.
  • the s*** beer..

Due to my minor speech problem, just about every time I asked for Schimnt or schilcz beer, I get Old Style....
