U.S. Radiator Corp. system from the 50s

The house I bought this year was built in the early 1950s and has a United States Radiator Corporation oil boiler system supplying hot water to cast iron baseboard radiators and the showers and sinks. The plate says 'I-B-R' and '12-B-4'.
I would like to lower the water temperature from 160 to 120 and perhaps turn off the water to the radiators during the summer.
Can anyone supply a manual or instructions for this boiler?

Thank you,
Dale

It would be helpful if you posted a few pictures of your boiler. It appears that you are trying to save money (and rightly so). You would be much better off to install a new high efficiency boiler. At the current price of oil your savings should be dramatic. US Radiator made good strong boilers that last a long time but in the 50's oil was 10 cents or less a gallon. It is probably oversized as most of the boilers from this time period were.
