You'd be surprised who has big boilers! In my small town of Stanwood (5,000 people) we have a dozen boilers over 500HP.

    El Presidente, BIG Boilers.

Hey El presidente Or big boiler men, got some question about the big boiler world.(kenawee und weishaupt marriage, something about the 135HP and bigger range).

Unfortunatly in my experience they don't marry well. The Weishaupt's flame geometry wants a long narrow path rather than a short fat one. So you might not get that full 10:1 turndown you're looking for.

Disclaimer: If it's a second generation Kewanee (Scotch Marine) I wouldn't hesitate!
  • What the heck...

are you doing messing around with boilers of that size? Got a monster snowmelt project you're working on or something?

Think "Wood gasifying boiler"... Viessmann makes a DANDY one, and with all the beetle kill you've got up there, operating costs will be nil.

NREL has a 9 million BTUH wood chip boiler that will be supplying 75% of the heating needs. It will be on line this fall. I've already arranged a tour when its commissioned.

    Call me.

Yeah these are some big boilers, to bad there not around my neck of the woods..with all that beetle kill. and the tax credits..

It is some project that my brother is working on in Florida.
they have the need for some serious steam and some of the boilers are in need of new burners..
Hopefully i will get a tour in August when i go to visit him and the kids..

A good alternative in my mind is Coen. They make a pretty awesome burner that compares to Weishaupt in technology and efficiency.

I don't know if they make em that small though. I have wired about 6 Coen burners up with Autoflame controls and not one of them was smaller than 800HP.

Also check out Gordon Piatt. They have tons of new burners on the market that are REALLY innovative. Not the same ol' R burner you're used to.
