But today is Ringo Starr's 68th birthday. Whether you think he was a great drummer or just had a sound that got him into the greatest musical act ever, the fact is he did get there and the rest is history.

I'm just glad

he didn't get sacrificed to that religious cult in the movie, "HELP." Ringo is cool. He stayed married through all the tough times to his childhood sweet heart, and when she died of cancer he married a Bond girl. It's good to be an ex Beatle. :-)

Was Ringo an Ian Paice, Cozy Powell, Neal Peart, Buddy Rich, Bonzo, Moon, Ginger Baker, CarmineAppice.....NO!!!!!!!!! HOWEVER, he was a DAMNED-GOOD basher with a GREAT attitude, very good chops, EXCELLENT song-writing ability,and solid voice....i WILL tell you this: I have never been to ANY show...where the "HOST" made me feel happier...Ringo & his ALL-Stars at Westbury Music FAir could be no better. Not a bad list. They were in the area last month, but the rest of the dates listed are OH and west. At the bottom of his site it says "more dates to come", so maybe they'll be back.
