Air Compressor Alternators

it's just what TJ is describing. It can also be used on a duplex compressor (two compressing units mounted on one tank) to alternate between them.

I've had luck going back to the manufacturer. I bellieve the last one I worked on was a Quincy with a Square D control and they faxed me a schematic while I was at my customers shop. Very helpful. Good Luck.

    Not sure

Not sure if I ever heard of that, what does it do?

I know what an aircompressor does, and I think I know what an alternator is, what do they do together? Can't picture it?

Sorry, I am of no help.

    air compressor alternator

Are you talking about a device to switch between 2 separate air compressors, like a lead lag.

    Is this and \"unloader\"?

Worked about 30 yrs ago on whats called an unloader for a "LOVJOY" air compressor. 300hp 3phase electric. 24" and an 18" cylinders in a Y configuration. Each cylinder compressed on the up stroke and down stroke. The unloader would open up a valve as you neared the desired pressure. Something like all valves closed below 85psi, one opened at 90psi, another opened at 90psi etc. At the desired top pressure tall valves were open and the compressor was spinning freely. I would imagine your would work similar, but diffrent. If thats any help.
