The main problem is that the soldered joints won't allow for expansion and contraction, so they may break.

Have them do it over in black steel.

    Use of Copper Pipe in Steam System

    A co-worker is having their home renovated. The contractor relocated a steam pipe due to the removal of a wall. They replaced the steel with copper. This doesn't seem to be the correct method, is this code? It is a one pipe system in New Jersey.
