Observation...

My project had an article in "The NEWS". The most number of calls it generated were from various other brand salesmen wanting to introduce me to their high efficiency products in the hopes of my purchasing them. They start out, "HI, MY name is XXX and I represent XXX. I saw your article in The News and I just wanted to call and congratulate you. Would you tell me more about it?" So I do, then somewhere along the line I get, "BTW, have you seen our new super efficient XXX? You should be using this instead." They're sending me credit apps, brochures, the whole nine yards. I didn't realize this was the purpose of the article. I was hoping it would generate more BUYERS, not more salesmen. Funny how things work sometimes. LOL...

    Your Buyers...

or customers don't read the trade mags. Your peers do. And salesman in the industry. Use the article with a link on your website, or perhaps a press release to the local newspaper. Then your customers can be aware of your presence.

    Now,

if you had a Find a Pro ad here, we could feature that job and customers would find you. The first three months are on me.

Paul's right. The trade reads the trades. You've got to work it.
    Retired and loving it.
  • Ah,,,

I was under the impression builders / GCs also read the trade mags to keep up on developments in the field. Points taken. Yup, just let me get caught up here and we'll talk about the find a pro. :)

    You would be surprised

How many contractors, reps, etc. do NOT read trade mags. My boss gives me all of his; forwards all kinds of online info to me. Now it would be nice if my 50 + yr. old brain could absorb it all....
  • Tell me abouit it...

I read them as time permits. Mostly just to see what's out there and what might be coming down the pike.
