We have a client wanting to replace her oil fired boiler with an electric boiler. Has anyone done this? Is there a preferred boiler choice?

    Burnham also makes a nice elect. unit.

    I installed an Argo electric boiler in my own home two years ago. Have been very happy with it. Added an outdoor reset to it after the first winter.

    is another nice one. they also have a zoning module that fits inside.

    Laing has a 2, 6 and 9 KW unit with a built in pump. The drawback is the element is not replaceable. At least on the small one.

    Whatever you do, avoid Sussman like the plague. Horrible customer service, huge time delays in getting what you need, etc. etc.

    Electric Boilers

    I have two Argo's in service right now. One is a 24KW and the other is a 20KW. Both are being used for temporary heat until the gas company decides to grace the project with their presence. They are very durable boilers and not too hard on the pocketbook either.

    makes nice ones. I've used a few with good results. Thermolec is another good one I've used. Theirs are available with built in outdoor reset as well.
